Cup of Love and Warmth
Thank you to all the precious kiddies , parents and staff at Crawford Lonehill Pre-Primary for spoiling us with awesome mugs filled with delicious treats. (See the school's post and pics below)
"The learners and educators of Crawford Lonehill Pre-Primary kick-started the 3rd term with an exciting social outreach campaign called “mug of love and warmth” this was an extension of the sharing the warmth campaign that was implemented last term.
In light of woman’s month and the end to the colder season this exciting initiative was aimed at dedicating beautiful mugs ( new or used) filled with sweets, teas, coffees, soups & snacks, biscuits and goodies for the Gerald Fitzpatrick Old Age Home.
The school gave parents who pledged to take part in this initiative, a mug a wrapper pack which included a cellophane, card template and a ribbon.
Our mission was to encourage parents to spend a meaningful morning or afternoon with their children to decorate the card , and find a mug to fill up with the love and warmth from their home, to the members of the Gerald Fitzpatrick Old Age Home.
Crawford Lonehill Pre-Primary has learners between the ages of 3-6 years old, and we look at how we can better our community, but also use each outreach initiative as an opportunity to educate our children to grow and become conscious and aware citizens, that contribute to the positive upliftment of the greater community.
We as a school have involved ourselves in a variety of projects that have assisted organisations such as schools, children, animals as well as our environment.
The initiative was a great success, Crawford Lonehill Pre-Primary managed to collect 133 mugs of love & warmth which were handed out to the 78 elderly women, 48 caregivers, and 7 student volunteers which make this organization possible.
The handover took place on Thursday the 16 August 2018 at 10:30 whereby our school principal Caroline Miller, deputy principal Jacqui Smallbone, and volunteer moms paid a visit to the home and spent a meaningful morning handing out the precious mugs to the members of the Gerald Fitzpatrick Old Age Home"
