Christmas in July for senior citizens

In July of each year the Rotary Club of Knights Pendragon provides a Christmas in July lunch for the residents of the Gerald Fitzpatrick Home in Bertrams. The home, which was founded in 1933, provides a self-sustaining, independent and secure home for 80 elderly women.

On the day senior citizens were treated to turkey, Christmas pudding, entertainment and a small personal gift. This year gift packs made by women of Bethany Home for abused women and their children were given to the residents of Gerald Fitzpatrick.

At the event songstress Eileen Wiener and Mervyn Miller entertained the women in a “sing-a-long”. In the gift packs was a a handmade angel and prayer card. The Rotary Club of Knights Pendragon thanked all those who assisted.
